They still take people to doctors' appointments and individual shopping experiences, but nothing in a group yet because of COVID. On the first day, I called hospice in because they have a hospice in that building also. The rooms are nice -- about the size of a regular hospital room. They are carpeted and painted, and you can supply your furniture. They have all levels of care; you can start with assisted living and go all the way to hospice at the same facility. They have bible study, bingo, singing, exercise class, and church services.

She's fairly outgoing anyway, but I think she's very much enjoying the community and the lifestyle here in Texas versus Washington. She likes to cook, so she wanted to have a full kitchen. She wanted basically an apartment rather than assisted living. They've done a wonderful job of converting some buildings that used to be student housing for Texas Tech into senior housing. They remodeled each one as they went through new tenants. They did a great job fixing it up with everything that she wanted, new appliances, new flooring, painted cabinets, and did everything that she asked for.

Additionally, they offer various personal services that include transportation and a 24-hour staff. At Carillon we recognize that our facility is a home for our residents, even if only for a short time. We foster an integrative, holistic, patient- centered approach to care, providing a wide range of therapies-including physical, social and recreational. Lubbock Care Center
I guess this is because it's hard for older people to go very far to smoke, but it does mean that you have to pass it in order to enter the building. Overall, our experience at Carillon was a good one and I would chose it again if we ever needed to place a loved one in an assisted-living facility. My dad is living in Carillon House for skilled nursing. I like the fact that they've been able to respond to his medical needs. He's been in the hospital several times while living there, and they get him in and out. They put him back in skilled nursing so I didn't have to move him again.

They have an indoor pool and all kinds of amenities. Some of the places have washers and dryers in the apartments, but all of the floors have a washer and dryer, so that if you do not have washers and dryers, you can utilize theirs. When I was looking at different apartments, I really could not hear people in the other apartment. It was really nice, but of course, like all of them it's not cheap. However, once you are accepted into the community, you stay there for life if you want to, regardless of your financial situation. There was a room where there were several tables of ladies playing bridge and I got to meet some of them.

Carillon is not as new of a facility, although it's lovely. I've been over to a couple of apartments, and they were large. They can knock out walls and combine two apartments if you needed more room.

The carillon nursing home facility would get my recommendation to anyone, it is a very clean and well kept community. The garden and yard areas were very pretty and provided a nice change of scenery for the residents to visit, giving them a quiet place outside of their room.

It allowed easy visiting as well to keep your family or friends that are residents at the facility in your life as much as possible for their remaining time. Carillon was a great choice for our family, and was for the most part affordable. I would rate it at four stars instead of five only because the food wasn't mind blowing.
